Surgical Appliance/Orthotic department

What we do

The Orthotics department is involved in assessment, prescription, design, fitting, supply and repair of special devices and footwear applied externally and directly to the body to support, correct, compensate or accommodate for physical deformity or weakness, skeletal muscular or neuro muscular abnormalities. There are also orthosis that may be used to protect body segments. Our team of Orthotists specialises in paediatric, spinal and diabetic Orthotic treatment.

What is an Orthosis?

A brace or other device provided to protect parts of the body, assist in restoration or improvement of its function or movement and the relief of pain, such as insoles, special footwear and lower and upper limb devices.
