Introduction

The Respiratory team at North Devon District Hospital aims to provide acute care for patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. In addition we provide outpatient clinics, an advisory service and education for healthcare professionals as well as an advisory service and education for patients.

CREADO Team 

The CREADO team is an Early Assisted Discharge Team who facilitate earlier discharge from Hospital and support in the community for patients having had a hospital admission due to COPD. Part of the remit of this team is to provide Pulmonary Rehabilitation at various locations in North Devon.

The team consists of COPD Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists and HCA’s’. They are based at Barnstaple Health centre. Their contact number is 01271 341505

The Lung Cancer Specialist Nurses act as keyworkers for patients with known or suspected lung cancer & mesothelioma, providing advice and support in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The CNS’s provide nurse led clinics and telephone support to patients, carers and other HCPs. They also support patients with malignant pleural effusions requiring insertion of PleurX drains.
