After your procedure

Once the procedure has been completed, you will be transferred out to the recovery area.

Every patient is cared for as an individual therefore the recovery period may differ from one patient to the next.

Once the recovery nurse is satisfied that your observations are stable, that you are comfortable and orientated, you will be able to get up and take a seat in stage 2 recovery.

Here you be offered refreshments, such as tea, coffee, biscuits or a piece of fruit. You are more than welcome to bring a sandwich from home to enjoy after the procedure if you so wish.

Before leaving the department, a member of the nursing team will provide you with a copy of the report and post procedure information.

The person collecting you must come to the endoscopy reception and let the reception team know they have arrived to collect you.
