The topic of the Link Nurse meeting held on the 23rd July 2019 was ‘Diabetes and Renal Function’. We were lucky enough to be joined by Magdalena Stojakowska, renal consultant at North Devon District Hospital, who delivered a fantastic presentation regarding the effects of diabetes medication when renal function is poor.
The Link Nurses all agreed that the presentation was very helpful and the knowledge they gained will be extremely useful when they are prescribing diabetes drugs to their patients.
Following Magdalena’s presentation Poe Budge delivered a patient focus session. This is designed to give the nurses an opportunity to seek advice from their colleagues regarding patients they are concerned about or unsure of how to proceed with.
