Rebecca Young

Nurse Educator Barnstaple

I gained my Registered Nurse (Adult) qualification in 1997, following which I spent 18 months on a general medical ward at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent. I then secured a position at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxfordshire where I expanded my surgical nursing experience and consolidated my leadership skills upon a specialist Gastro Intestinal Surgical Unit.  I then relocated to the beautiful North Devon, which is where I discovered my passion for community nursing. I obtained my Specialist Practitioner – District Nursing qualification in 2005 and spent many very happy and fulfilling years as a Community Nurse Team Lead.  This was followed by a position of Continuing Health Care Team lead.  My current role is that of a Nurse educator in the North Devon Care Homes Team, a position that I have held since the inception of the service in 2011 with much passion and great enthusiasm.
