Haematology

The Haematology laboratory provides a UKAS accredited diagnostic service for primary and secondary care. Specialist testing is provided by UKAS accredited referral laboratories within the UK. Grossly abnormal results will be telephoned back to the ward or doctor.

Haematology Clinical Advice: For any enquiries regarding clinical advice, please contact the Duty Consultant via the Haematology Secretary at 01271 - 349198 (3198). If out of hours (17:30 – 09:00 Mon-Fri, weekends and bank holidays), contact the hospital switchboard. Please note this service is for health professionals only.

Opening hours

Routine work: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30

Haematology Clinics

Daily consultant-led clinics are held in the North Devon District Hospital Outpatients’ Department between 09:00 and 13:00 for patients. There is also a clinic held in Stratton hospital every three months.
