The Pathology Laboratory is located on level 1 at North Devon District Hospital. Diagnostic testing is an integral part of the healthcare equation. Laboratory tests are integral to the diagnosis of disease or monitoring of therapy.
We provide a high quality diagnostic and consultative service to clinical users of Northern Devon Healthcare Trust and to primary and secondary care providers in the locality.
The laboratory core hours from Monday to Friday are 09:00 – 17:30 (Blood Sciences and Microbiology), 08:30 - 17:00 (Histology and Cytology), and 07:30 – 16:00 (Mortuary & Bereavement).
Outside of these times there is an out of hours on-call service for Biochemistry (bleep 031), Haematology/Blood Transfusion (045) and Microbiology (contact switchboard).
