Pathology I.T. Services
The laboratory is responsible for the storage and reporting of pathology results on the Laboratory Information Management system – LabCentre. The pathology I.T. service is responsible for training on and maintenance of LabCentre. The department is also involved in the setup, maintenance and training for the GP Order Comms system – tQuest.
Access to results from all NDHT pathology departments are available to trained users. Please contact the Pathology Application Manager if you have any problems or queries concerning the access or use of LabCentre. The User Guide for LabCentre is available to view here.
Pathology System Access & Training
As a member of staff, you should already have access to the NDHT hospital computer network and NHSmail. Your line manager or Medical HR should have already requested access to the Pathology Computer System.
NDHT Medical Staff (online or tutored)
An email which includes your login and password will have been sent to your NHS Mail account.
On-line training is available using the Training Tracker application.
Tutored training (1–2 hr) is available – book a training session for Pathology Labcentre using the training module STAR or contact the Workforce Development department on 01237-420261
All other staff (tutored)
A login ID and password are supplied at the tutored training course Pathology Labcentre. It is possible to book a training session (1-2 hr) using the training module STAR or contact Workforce Development on 01237 420261.
GP Order Comms System:
Should you need help and advice in the use of the order comms system or are experiencing difficulties with it, contact either Jo Tucker or Nadine Williams in Pathology I.T. on 01271 322324 or email email@example.com.
Primary care locations are able to complete electronic requests for the majority of pathology tests. Staff in all the GP practices have been trained in the use of the system and how to request pathology tests electronically.
