Safe and Effective Care Within a Budget

In the summer of 2015 the Northern Devon Healthcare Trust held a consultation out community hospital inpatient beds in Northern Devon. The consultation looked at reducing community hospital inpatient services from four units to two.

We were thrilled with the amount of involvement we had into this consultation. We had over 1000 people attend our public meetings and 600 people complete the feedback form.

On 6th October 2015 the Board reviewed the outcome of the consultation and made the decision that Bideford and Ilfracombe inpatient units would close and inpatient services would continue to be run from South Molton and Holsworthy hospitals.
