The safe and effective care within our budget consultation has ended. We have had a fantastic response from the public and will be presenting the results at the Trust Board meeting on 6 October. Papers are posted here
Every year we visit all Trust bases/hospitals to meet our staff to celebrate our successes over the last year and discuss what next year is looking like. We know that our frontline staff possess the ideas and suggestions for how we can ensure we continually improve the quality and efficiency of the patient care services we provide.
During these meetings we showed the video of Mrs Andrews which stimulated much discussion and some thoughtful suggestions. We thought that you would be interested to see it as it graphically highlights some of the problems elderly people face when admitted to hospital unnecessarily.
We believe that we can put in place a better way of caring for people across Northern Devon. People need joined-up services as close to home as possible – services that support health and wellbeing and support carers. This transformation of care is a journey that we embarked upon some time ago, and will continue to develop and improve into the future. This video of Sam’s story demonstrates this alternative model and the benefits of joined-up care.
