We are supporting COVID-19 vaccination at North Devon Leisure Centre.

We have developed an information video to support your appointment at the North Devon Leisure Centre.

More about us

The centre is staffed by specially-trained vaccinators and support staff with help from volunteers.

You can book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at the North Devon Leisure Centre.

We occasionally run walk-in clinics, where you don’t need to book an appointment, just come along during the advertised times. It helps our team if you can bring some photo ID and your NHS number with you, but you do not need to bring this.

Please check our social media accounts for dates and times – Facebook and Twitter.

Booking an appointment

Appointments are offered via the National Booking Service and are staggered to allow for social distancing.

Appointments on the National Booking Service are being released regularly. Please keep checking online if you are unable to book a slot locally straight away.

Anyone unable to book online can call 119 free of charge, anytime between 7am and 11pm seven days a week. You can ask someone else to do this for you if you prefer.

If you have difficulties communicating or hearing, or are a British Sign Language (BSL) user, you can use textphone 18001 119, call 119 BSL via the InterpreterNow app, or use the NHS BSL interpreter service at:

We may be able to vaccinate you earlier than your booked appointment where vaccine supply allows. For us to be able to contact you about bringing your appointment forward, please input your contact details where indicated on the National Booking Service.

When booking your first appointment online, please make sure you click through after the “confirmation details” screen. This will ensure you:

  • receive a booking confirmation via text/email
  • are able to book your second appointment

If you have received your first vaccine dose but have not booked a second appointment, at least 24 hours after your first appointment, please refer back to the online system. From here, you will be able to book your second appointment.

If you already have appointments booked, you can use the National Booking Service website to manage your appointments, including if you need to cancel.

Attending an appointment

Please do not attend your vaccination if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or are self-isolating.

Please ensure you wear a face mask unless you have a valid exemption certificate.

In preparation for getting your vaccination, please wear loose fitting clothing.

Remember to eat and drink before you attend –particularly if the weather is hot.

We ask that you do not arrive more than five minutes before your appointment time to avoid queues.

You may need to wait 15 minutes after your vaccination.

Please attend your appointment by yourself if possible. If you need physical, communication, or emotional support, someone from your household or support bubble can accompany you to your appointment. We can also help arrange translation or interpretation support if you need it.

Translation and interpretation support

British Sign Language support is available – please speak to one of the vaccination team, who will assist you.

If you require a translator or interpreter for your COVID-19 vaccination appointment at the North Devon Leisure Centre, please let us know at least five working days before your appointment.

Email or call 01271 314090 with the following details:

  • The name of the appointment holder
  • Date and time of the appointment
  • Language required e.g. Polish, Bulgarian
  • Contact number
