If you know you are unable to make the appointment we have made for you, please let us know as soon as possible. This allows us to provide you with a new appointment date quickly, and to offer the cancelled slot to another patient, keeping our waiting times down and our services running smoothly.
Changing or cancelling an appointment
Please call the number/contact via email address on your appointment letter to change or cancel your appointment – this will get you through to the most appropriate department. Alternatively you can call 01271 322577, where you will be able to request to be put through to the department you are trying to contact.
We are currently experiencing high numbers of calls, which at busy times can make it difficult to get through. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes. We are monitoring our call levels and are working on improving these services to make it quicker and easier for you to get through to the right person.
PLEASE NOTE: If you cancel your appointment on multiple occasions this may result in you being returned back to the care of your GP or referrer to ensure the safe management of your condition.
For many of our outpatient specialties, we provide a telephone reminder service. We will call you in the week before your appointment to remind you of the time and date. This helps when you may have forgotten, or your appointment letter has gone astray. It also allows you to confirm you are attending, or reminds you to cancel if you are not able to attend.
