Day 10 – Dr Alison Moody

What do you do for the Trust?

I am a respiratory consultant working at North Devon District Hospital. I also have my fingers in many other pies (but not mince pies as I don’t like them!) – these include lead for Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), clinical lead for outpatients and general all round listener.

What makes you proud of your work?

Lots of things make me proud. I love working with our juniors and helping them develop their skills – they seem to like it. I am always amazed that patients and relatives go to the trouble to thank me for my help. Finally, someone told me recently I annoy less people than I used to, which makes me very proud!

What was your highlight of 2018?

This is a tricky one. Lots of things have been great, but probably surviving teenagers with A levels and GCSEs and all coming out unscathed was quite a  highlight.

Top tip for a great Christmas?

That’s easy – make sure that the Prosecco is at the right temperature!

Have a great Christmas everyone.
