Well done to NDHT’s ‘brilliant’ student mentors

Our nursing, midwifery and therapies staff who are also mentors have been recognised for the support they provide to the workforce of the future.

Jason Lugg, Director of Nursing, presented staff with awards from the University of Plymouth and the University of Reading. The awards were given following feedback from students who undertook a placement with us as part of their studies.

Here are some of the mentors with their certificates, and some comments from the students.

Mentor – Louise Mullholland – Ilfracombe District Nurse Team – “always supportive, and a brilliant teacher.” – Student Nurse

Mentors – Sharon Copp and Emma Frost, Victoria Ward – “I had my placement on Victoria Ward and I am so grateful to the whole team but especially Emma and Sharon who took me under their wings and helped with my development. Nothing was a problem for them, they took time to teach me in the most professional way and encouraged me to take every opportunity that came my way.” –Student Nurse

Well done to all of our award winners. The past 18 months have been incredibly challenging. To continuously provide the support and commitment to students and their placements has been fantastic.
