Vaccination help wanted: support your local NHS in Northern Devon

The whole NHS is working at record speed to meet the new national mission to deliver the COVID-19 booster programme and protect communities against the new Omicron variant, as well as being there for those who need care urgently.

The national public response has already been incredible, with nearly 1.3 million booster bookings made and over a million jabs delivered on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 December.

To achieve our mission, the NHS needs your help. We are looking for people to join our vaccination team at Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. We are vaccinating at the North Devon Leisure Centre and North Devon District Hospital.

This is your opportunity to join a team which is saving lives and helping the country return to normal life.

Paid roles

Legislation allows a wider group of staff to undertake training to deliver vaccines. This includes many allied health professionals, healthcare scientists and dental staff, as well as other individuals with appropriate first aid training, who are able to undertake additional comprehensive training; so opportunities for flexible, paid roles are open to a huge variety of people.

We would welcome any applications from NHS staff working in other organisations who can help at this time.

If you can help, please email ndht.safestaffing@nhs.net

Volunteer roles

We really couldn’t manage without our wonderful volunteers. Volunteers help in the car parks, make people feel welcome, register them and deal with administrative tasks that leave our staff free to carry out the vaccinations.

If you can help, please email your telephone number to the volunteer team – ndht.volunteer@nhs.net. We will call you back on the number you provide.
