Memory Tree at NDDH remembers those we have lost

2020 has certainly been a roller coaster ride for everyone, but for those who have been bereaved there have been particular heartaches, and many have been unable to say their goodbyes properly and to mark their grief in some meaningful way.

In order to help with that the Chaplaincy and the End of Life team have worked together to place a Christmas Memory Tree in the entrance to North Devon District Hospital (opposite the shop) where you can write the name of someone you have lost on a star and place on the tree.

Donations are invited for the work of Over and Above and the stars will stay in place until 2 January, when you can collect them to keep at home if you wish.

If you would like to talk to someone about how you are feeling then please contact either Julie or John in the Chaplaincy team on 01271 322362 who can signpost you to the right person. Please remember that visitors are unable to come to the hospital at present so those who are unable to come in in person to place their star are invited to contact us by email giving the name of the person you would like to remember and we can place the star on your behalf. Our contact details are: Rev Julie Cartwright: or John Fletcher-Cullum:  or call 01271 322362.
