Appointment text reminders now being used across our outpatients teams

To help make it easier for patients to remember their appointment times with us we have now introduced a text reminder service. This service is still being implemented but is already being used for many of our outpatient departments.

If you have an appointment with one of our outpatient teams using the reminder service e.g. physiotherapy, rheumatology, you will receive a reminder text or phone call seven days before your appointment and we will ask you to confirm whether you are still able to attend. Replying YES to the message confirms attendance, if we do not receive a response we will assume that you are attending.

If the appointment is no longer convenient you can respond with REBOOK and the relevant booking team will get in touch to rearrange the appointment. Any response must include the four digit code from the text message, this is how we identify which appointment you are responding to.

Following this you will also receive a second reminder two days before your appointment. If you need to cancel or rebook your appointment at this point you will need to call the number provided in your reminder.

If you receive a text of call reminder but are unsure what the appointment is for please phone the outpatient booking team on 01271 313949.
