Can you believe it is nearly midsummer already? With the warmer weather comes the increased need to drink plenty of fluids over the day to stay hydrated. When we are dehydrated our blood doesn’t move round our body so easily, making things like feeling energetic or concentrating difficult.
Drinking plenty of low or no sugar fluids (like water, no added sugar squash or decaffeinated tea or coffee) can be a great way to lower blood sugar levels. It does this by helping your body get rid of some of what it doesn’t need. If you want to find out more about the benefits of keeping hydrated take a look at this factsheet by the British Dietetic Association.
