I’ve heard this so many times! I think there has been some confusion created around bananas because they have a higher carbohydrate content than most other fruits. This means it can increase your blood sugar more than, for example, a handful of blueberries. It doesn’t make them bad – they have lots to offer. My advice is to think about the portion size, perhaps have a funsize banana as a portion rather than a large banana. Rather than sitting down to a big bowl of fruit salad, try spreading single portions of fruit out over the day.
