Third cohort of trainee nursing associates starts at NDHT

The third group of trainee nursing associates (TNAs) have now started their training programme at NDHT, in collaboration with the University of Bolton and Petroc.

The trainees are already experienced healthcare assistants, with excellent knowledge of working at NDHT, and during their two years of training they will work within clinical teams at NDHT whilst also completing their studies through the University of Bolton.

Our first group of trainees became qualified nursing associates in January this year and feedback from patients and staff has been overwhelmingly positive.

A new uniform has been agreed across the Devon Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) to help people distinguish between trainee nursing associates and nursing associates. The nursing associates wear the familiar turquoise uniform, whilst the trainees also have red epaulettes (as pictured below).
