Staff at North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) are getting in the festive spirit and are putting on a special Christmas dementia support café.
The café will be held from 4pm-6pm on Wednesday 19 December in the Raleigh Galley Restaurant, Level 0, at NDDH.
The dementia support café launched in August and offers a place where people caring for those living with dementia can learn more about dementia and the local support available, whilst volunteers spend time with their loved one.
As well as the advice, refreshments and entertainment that are available at every dementia support café, there will be carols, mince pies, a visit from Santa and lots more festive fun during this Christmas special.
Angela Walter, Admiral nurse at Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “We wanted to put on something special this Christmas for anyone living with dementia and those who care for them. Everyone is welcome – come and have a mince pie and a cup of tea, and join in!
“As well as all the Christmas fun we’ve got going on, we’re here to listen, advise and help people living with dementia and their carers, so please do come and chat with us whilst our volunteers spend time with your loved ones.”
The dementia support cafés are regularly held in the Raleigh Galley Restaurant at NDDH on the first Wednesday of every month from 2pm-4pm and the third Wednesday of every month from 4pm-6pm.
