Advice for patients following red weather warning

Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is issuing advice to patients following an updated Met Office red weather warning for snow and wind for parts of South West England.

All appointments today (2 March) have been cancelled, which includes outpatient appointments, day case surgery and endoscopy, and elective inpatient surgery.

Patients have been contacted. Patients do not need to ring us – your appointment will be automatically rebooked. If your new appointment is in the next two weeks you will be called, otherwise you will receive a new appointment letter.

Tyrrell Hospital MIU in Ilfracombe is open today.

Bideford and Lynton Minor Injuries Units are closed today. Services are planned to resume as normal tomorrow.

Wonford Walk-in Centre (WIC) is open TODAY (2 March) but is running reduced hours – open 8am-4pm

Sidwell Street Walk-in Centre is closed today and will also be closed Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 March. Service is planned to resume as normal Monday 5 March.

Darryn Allcorn, director of nursing, quality and workforce at the Trust, said: “I would like to thank all our staff who have responded to calls to help transport other staff to and from work, helping us keep vital services running.”
