We would like to confirm that the oversight group is not taking a vote on the Torrington Community Cares evaluation and engagement reports when it meets today.
The group is made up of lay members who have represented the views of the community for the last eight months.
The meeting today is not a public meeting, and never was.
Through the engagement activities over the last eight months, everyone has had the opportunity to raise their concerns, questions and experiences.
We have encouraged views from the public by holding meetings with the public through Tour and Talk, drop-ins, workshops, 1-2-1 meetings and meetings with groups such as the district council, League of Friends, Care Forum and Rotary Club.
During our engagement process we have held or completed:
- 34 events
- 2 public meetings
- 16 drop-in sessions
- 4 focus groups
- 5 oversight group meetings
- 15 meetings with councillors
- 10 Tour and Talk sessions
- 10 patient stories
- 1 visit to Budleigh Salterton
- 4 leaflets/posters
- 2 patient story films
- 1 supporting document
- 3 published evaluations
- 61 letters and responses
- 1 website with an online message board (www.torringtoncares.co.uk)
- 17 press releases
- 13 Freedom of Information requests (60 questions)
All the views have been reported and responded to in the full engagement report and can be shown to have influenced the decision-making process.
The decision on the evaluation and engagement reports will take place later this month.
As with all public meetings of the boards of the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust and the Northern locality of the Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, the public have the opportunity to attend to make their views known.
We are ready to listen. Please call 01769 575100 for details of how to attend and ask the board a question.
