Service Description: Most patients will come into NDDH for a pre-assessment consultation prior to an elective procedure. The nurse assesses the patient’s social circumstances and general medical condition and arranges any investigations. If there any complicating factors about a patient’s medical suitability for a day case procedure, an anaesthetist is also consulted.
