Service Description: In addition to the Emergency Department at NDDH, the Trust runs a network of other services for less critical illnesses or injuries. In North Devon these are called Minor Injury Units. They can provide timely care for patients without an appointment.
Minor injury units (MIU) are nurse led services offering assessment and treatment for minor ailments and injuries such as cuts, bruises, minor infections and strains. We can also assess, x-ray and treat simple fractures
Service Location:
Bideford - 7:30am – 8:30 pm, 7 days a week
Ilfracombe – 8:00am – 9:00pm, 7 days a week
Lynton - 8:00 – 6:00pm – Monday – Friday / 11:00 – 4:00pm – Weekends
Minor Injury Units are also run in office hours at the GP surgeries in Holsworthy, Torrington and South Molton.
