About us

Geriatric medicine general term encompassing the conditions which effect people more later in life or are related to aging. A general geriatric medicine clinic is provided at North Devon District Hospital and Bideford, Holsworthy, Ilfracombe and South Molton Community Hospitals. The clinics provide access to more specialist services based upon your needs.

How do I access this service?

You will be referred to this service by a healthcare professional e.g. GP, if you have a condition which would benefit from accessing this service. Examples of the types of conditions which are covered by this clinic are given below:

  • Dementia
  • Osteoporosis
  • Rehabilitation after a fall
  • Strokes and Stroke rehabilitation
  • Syncope (fainting)
  • Trans Ischemic Attack (TIA)
