What to Expect

You will be given an appointment when you telephone.  You may be asked to ‘hold your urine’ for two hours prior to your appointment time.  This is to ensure high accuracy of the genital tests taken when you are examined.

If this is your first visit to the clinic the Receptionist will ask you to fill out a questionnaire.  This information is kept confidential and will not be used outside the GUM clinic.

You will have a set of notes made for you with a Clinic Number.  You will be given an appointment card with your Clinic Number on it.

Your address and post codes are important to us to enable easy communication.  You need not have worries about confidentiality issues as the service is based on absolute confidentiality. Even your GP cannot access information about you without your prior consent.
