Service Description: The North Devon Cancer unit serves a population of 160,000 and over 1000 new cancers are diagnosed each year. The service aims to provide optimal treatment for patients with cancer at all stages of their illness.
The Trust provides both inpatient and outpatient cancer services in North Devon and multi disciplinary team management is accessible locally for common malignancies. People with less common and rarer cancers are referred to specialist multi disciplinary teams in other units.
The management team together with the multi-disciplinary treatment teams, have links with the Peninsula Cancer Network.
The Peninsula Network covers a population of approximately 1.5 million and incorporates the five Trusts within Devon and Cornwall.
