Visitors, privacy and dignity

Visiting times are generally between 2.30pm and 8pm daily on most wards, although Intensive Care and the children’s wards operate a more-flexible system. To check the visiting times for the ward your friend or relative is on, please ring the ward directly.

During protected mealtimes, visitors are not permitted, unless they are helping you to eat. This allows patients time to eat their meal in peace. Protected mealtimes may vary slightly. Please check with the individual ward about times. Visiting outside of these times is at the discretions of the ward manager.

If you wish to be cared for by a member of staff of the same sex as you, please talk to a member of the ward team.
