Public to play lead role in naming of North Devon’s new chemotherapy unit

PAUL Humphreys (pictured), capital engineering manager for the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, is very pleased with the sedum grass which has just been laid on the roof of the new chemotherapy and day treatment unit. The roof needs little maintenance and will provide better insulation and improved water retention as well as a habitat for wildlife. The new unit is being built to BREEAM standards. It will be highly insulated, well-lit and contain a highly efficient and finely controlled heating system driven by a heat pump which will provide savings on running costs.
